It’s important to note that Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup will not, in itself, promote weight loss. It will, however, give you the essential energy and nutrients you need on low calorie days to help you sustain a weight loss regime.
Can I drink anything besides the Madal Bal Energy Drink while fasting?
Absolutely! A little variety can help you stick to your fast. Once or twice a day you might enjoy a cup of herbal tea. Peppermint, rosehip and chamomile teas are useful complements to the Madal Bal Energy Drink. These teas can provide other benefits, including relief from headaches. Teas and juices should only be sweetened with the Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup, if at all. And avoid dairy products.
What about coffee or caffeinated drinks?
We recommend that you avoid these drinks during your detox or fast. Coffee is very toxic to the body, as are most caffeinated beverages. If you really feel the need for caffeine, tea is preferable to coffee and green tea is more beneficial than black tea. If you are giving up caffeine entirely, then it’s wise to do so 4-5 days in advance of your diet. Caffeine is addictive and sudden abstinence can result in headaches. These should normalise in that time.
Can I use another syrup (like maple syrup)?
Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup uses premium grade C+ maple syrup (not just ordinary maple syrup), mixed with a special blend of highly nutritional palm syrups. It was originally formulated for use in detox diets. Using regular maple syrup alone will not give you the correct balance of minerals and nutrients your body needs.
Can I mix it differently?
Yes. You can alter the amount of Natural Tree syrup, but don’t change the amount of lemon juice. To make the Madal Bal Energy Drink slightly less sweet, use 1.5 tablespoons of syrup to 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Or, if you are especially hungry, you can add a little more syrup. Find a mix that works for you.
Should I refrigerate the syrup after opening the can?
Like all tree syrups, Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup has a long shelf life. Unrefrigerated, it should last up to 3 years. We do, however, recommend refrigerating the can to maximise this life span.
How long should I follow a fasting diet?
It really depends on your own goals and the programme you intend to follow. Some examples are below.
The Lemon Detox: It is recommended to do the full Lemon Detox for 3-5 days if it is your first time. If your body is more accustomed to fasting, you can stay on the programme for 5-7 days. If you are wishing to continue any longer it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional.
The 5:2 Diet : Many people hope to stay on the 5:2 diet for life as the health benefits make it a plan that offers more than weight loss alone. When you reach your desired healthy weight, you can shift your fasting days from 5:2 to 6:1. It’s your decision.
Can anyone fast?
